On September 22, 2023, the Fergana Oil Refinery hosted the final stage of the “Best in Profession” professional skills competition in 12 different nominations corresponding to working specialties.

This tradition was initiated by the plant’s management in September 2020 and has become an important event in the system of incentives and motivation for employees at all levels and divisions of the plant.

The key objective of the competition is to increase the prestige of blue-collar professions, as well as  among young people, to widely disseminate current experience and best practices in personnel training.

This year, more than a thousand plant employees in various working categories competed for the title of the best in their field, including: process plant operator, commodity operator, machinist, electrician, instrument operator, mechanical repairman, laboratory assistant, transport worker, line and administrative personnel, and also a security service.

Umidakhon Sherkhanovna Egamnazarova, leading engineer of the department for the implementation of innovations and international standards, talks about how the selection of employees for the title of “best” was carried out.

“The assessment of candidates was carried out in several stages. At the first stage, throughout the year, on a monthly basis, we identified the best according to uniform evaluation criteria of the plant-wide and workshop commissions, as well as evaluations by chief specialists. At the second stage, the results were summarized with the results of a monthly open online voting, in which more than 700 plant employees participated. Thus, at the end of the year, candidates in each of the nominations were presented and the best of the best were determined.

An important criterion in the selection of candidates is that the selection of the best is carried out from the entire staff of the enterprise and the selection criteria are the same for everyone.

Based on the results of professional and personal achievements in 2022-2023, the winner in the category “Best operator of technological installations” was Dilshod Abdullaev Mukimovich, who works on the AVT-3 ELOU installation in the 1st workshop of the plant. The winner believes that dedication to work is based on the desire to learn and develop abilities that help achieve better results. “Yes, even with simple enthusiasm a person can reach unprecedented heights. This is the first necessary trait for the development of leadership skills in a person,” says Dilshod Mukimovoch.

“Whatever nomination the competitors take part in, one of the most important topics included in all nominations of the competition is the topic of labor safety. For the trade union organization, this is a priority,” emphasized the chairman of the trade union committee of the Fergana Oil Refinery Plant, Saidaliev Rashid Turdalievich.

Based on the results of the competition, 12 best employees were identified and were awarded certificates of honor in a solemn ceremony.

Also, the winners of the competition in each category will be paid a salary bonus for high professional skill.

“For the third year in a row, we are summing up the results and highlighting the best employees in their working specialties. We are pleased that year after year this not only motivates, but also activates our staff. On the one hand, this is the desire to work better on the part of the employees themselves, on the other hand, this is the management’s attention to the people who contribute to the development of the plant,” says plant director Zafar Alimovich.
